I have always been drawn to faux fur. When I was very little I used to run around my house with my dad’s fur hat on (and nothing else), and as the years have gone on, I’ve continued to incorporate it into my wardrobe (fully clothed this time).
Faux fur and I have had our issues. In high school I bought an amazing faux leopard-print vest on sale and dreamt of the ways I could style it. Despite my best intentions, my look with the vest was not received well by other students in my small suburban high school (and by that I mean people “meow-ed” at me in the hall), and after that I put it back in my closet and never wore it again. Years later I have given faux fur another shot, and I’m not looking back.
This season faux-fur has been everywhere, in all shapes. Faux fur coats, hats, purses, shoes… it’s definitely not just my fave this fall. I’m loving coloured faux fur in all hues, but there’s also something so classic about a faux leopard coat. I found this emerald coat at Marshalls for a steal, and I want to wear it everyday forever. Not only is the colour amazing, but this texture is so soft and cozy and luxurious looking. If you don’t already have some faux-fur in your closet, you need to get to it. And don’t worry about anyone “meow-ing” – they just don’t understand.
Side note: Only advocating faux fur in this post – real fur is cruel and disgusting. Even Gucci agrees!
