Finding a new purse can be like looking for a needle in a hay stack. With so many to pick from and so many elements to consider it’s no wonder I’ve been carrying the same bag for two years. My one requirement for any bag I buy is that it has to be cruelty free. This makes the search even harder… While it’s easy to pop into an H&M or Zara, sometimes you want something a little nicer, or don’t want to have the same bag as everyone else. Enter this post. Below I’ve collected a few of my picks from some awesome cruelty free brands that allow you to look cool without the cruelty:

Nikki Reed x Freedom of Animals Mini Bucket Bag
I am so in love with bucket bags lately, and this one ticks all my boxes. Honestly I’m so in love with the whole Nikki Reed x Freedom of Animals collection that it was hard to pick just one. Freedom of Animals is made in the USA, and completely vegan, so it’s a company you can feel good about supporting! Bucket bag, $300, freedomofanimals.com

Alexandra K Sophie Bag in Rose Quartz
I was introduced to the Alexandra K brand at the Vegan Food and Drink Festival last year where they had a booth set up for the website Alltrueist, a completely vegan e-commerce site. Her bags are super luxurious looking without the use of animal products. My fave is her Sophie bag and I’m especially digging blush and nude tones lately, so I’d have to pick the Rose Quartz color for sure! Sophie Bag, $449, alltrueist.com

Matt and Nat Livia in Carbon
Matt and Nat is a vegan fashion staple. The brand is based out of Montreal (10 points for Canada!) and their products are made of recycled fibres which is even better! I wasn’t kidding when I said I’m loving bucket bags and this classic style is perfect for holding all your essentials. Bucket bag, $140, mattandnat.com

Danielle Nicole Jett Backpack
Backpacks count as bags right?? I love the minimalist design on this one by Danielle Nicole. This brand even did a collab with Disney, so if you’re looking for a “beast” themed shoulder bag you know where to look! These bags are much more affordable than some others, which is another reason why I’m loving this brand. Backpack, $88, danielle-nicole.com

Melie Bianco Athena Color Block Tote
When I look at this bag I see a perfect sleek shoulder bag for fall. I love the mix of taupe, burgundy and navy, which will work well with the items in my fall wardrobe. Loving the geometric shape and minimalist details too! (And how cute is their polka-dot lining, I mean come on!) Tote, $99, meliebianco.com

Stella McCartney Embroidered Shoulder Bag
Okay, I know this post said 5 bags, but how could I make a list of vegan purses without including my queen Stella?! While this bag isn’t one I’ll be able to buy for a while (or ever), a girl can dream. Long live Stella McCartney! Shoulder bag, $1,640, stellamccartney.com
